I have been extremely blessed to perform within the beauty industry for over 30 years. I began my career upon graduating with top honors and received a scholarship for training in salon management. Upon joining the workforce I began an internship with Sebastian International where I was selected to receive further education in New York City.
I continued to work behind the chair all the while attending seminars and classes to refine and sharpen my skills. Having been fortunate with my education, I decided to share my skills with the next generation, and became an educator at a local beauty college. For the next eight years I trained students in all aspects of the salon industry, all the while I worked behind the chair in a salon.
While educating at the college, I was selected to receive advanced education throughout my tenure, where I attended Dudley’s Academy of Beauty Art, where I learned about the care of ethnic hair.
For my next endeavor I became a national educator for Paul Mitchell Systems, where I was fortunate to travel to Hawaii and learn how organic ingredients benefit the hair and scalp. I learned about the how nature affects our hair, and many cutting styling techniques that have translated through time.
These last five years my passion has been re-ignited! I traveled to Atlanta to take part in Candy Shaw’s French Hair-cutting and Balayage training seminars. French Hair-cutting is very personal. I believe it sets me apart from the average hairdresser in that the clients wishes, bone structure, face shape, and hair texture are all in the equation for the final outcome. Cutting hair in this manner allows for a beautiful grow out . Weight is removed in the hair where it would inhibit movement .
I also am a certified Jack Winn Pro educator. I recently traveled to Denver to become a color educator for JWP. I love this company! They are environmentally conscious, and their hair color ( made in Italy) is made of botanical ingredients, including a color line that is ppd free, and ammonia free.
I now specialize in French Cutting and Color and Chemical Processing, which requires intense study of hair growth and the effects of outside agents on the hair. I have never lost the passion for this industry, ever changing and re-creating.
I’d like to refer to myself as an image Consultant, friend, and style lobbyist, and I love keeping my valued clients excited about looking their best!
